The Artist ~ Jordan Banks
Hello, my name is Jordan and I have been drawing for as long as I can remember. Horses and Dogs of course! Other animals too, but always HORSES!
My mom put my younger brother and I in private drawing lessons when we were young, 7 and 10. I remember frequently drawing my Shetland pony "Beauty" for my homework assignments. I was told to choose one body part to draw at a time...with the caveat that erasing was "not allowed." Ironically today "erasing" is a big part of my "technique" to add texture and highlights!
Art was always my favorite class in school and my art teachers always the most impactful. I graduated from Washington State University in 1994 with a B.A. in Communication and a minor in Fine Arts.
Every single time I finish a portrait I look at it and say "WOW! How did I do that?!" But I know it is not me, it is God doing it through me...I am just the conduit.

For years I did not charge for my art because I was afraid to put a price tag on it. Gifting a personalized portrait is still one of my biggest joys in life. The emotion, smiles and tears my works evoke illuminate the value of my skill and energy.
I have been selling my artwork now for 15 years. My graphite portraits are done on Acid Free Bristol Board. I mat and frame each one, as the presentation of the final work is just as artistically important to me as the details in the drawing itself. You receive a one of a kind, ready to hang, treasured original work of art!
